PROMOTIONS INTERN

DEPARTMENT: Events & Promotions
TYPE: Part Time/Seasonal Internship (30-40 hours)
REPORTS TO: Marketing Manager
COMPENSATION: Course credit only
DURATION: January-May 2010
POSTING DATE: October 4, 2009

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
• Assist the Marketing Department with day-to-day functions
• Assist in the execution of promotional events
• Assist in game night duties for all Rockets home games
• Oversee selected scrimmage games, viewing parties, Read to Achieve events, and skills camps
• Assist in overseeing the Marketing Associate program
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
• College student, junior or senior with a Marketing or related major
• Prior experience with event planning, event execution, and customer service preferred
• Self motivated, organized, and detail oriented
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Flexibility to work long days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
